The
Student Athlete Success 101 seminars will be weekend seminars
designed for high school student athletes entering grades 10-12. The
purpose will be to help student athletes becoming more well-rounded
people and to gain a greater understanding of college athletics:
from the admissions and recruiting processes, to an understanding of
how financial aid works, to the various levels of competition and
options available and all the way through to learning how to use the
collegiate experience to prepare for a career.
These are unique, and it is likely that you won’t find anything else
like these seminars - anywhere. They create a genuine opportunity
for any student-athlete – and parents – to become much more educated
about the expectations, responsibilities and challenges of college
athletics, while helping student athletes gain a better
understanding about using athletics to become a more well-rounded
person.
These seminars will be launched in the summer of 2007. Tentative
plans call for one seminar one each coast of Florida in the first
year and plan to run from Friday evening through Sunday
for each seminar.
Please follow this web site for additional information. A tentative
agenda of topics should be listed in the near future. Locations,
dates and times should be listed here as well. On-line registration
will be available and brochures should be available towards the
beginning of the calendar year 2007. In addition, watch this site
for a list of guest speakers as we near the seminars.
