You are now reading the beginning of one man’s dream, as I am truly proud and excited to introduce McCarthy Sports, Inc. This venture marks that “leap of faith” or “risk” that people often talk about, but rarely take. Through McCarthy Sports, Inc., I am simply following a passion. I am creating something new. With my passion for people and for sports, we will create something great.

McCarthy Sports, Inc. will focus on three broad areas:

● Sports Events    ● Sports Education    ● Sports Consulting.

The first major sports event that will be launched through McCarthy Sports, Inc. will be the Collegiate Basketball Invitational. Please follow the press releases and continue to click on the box for this event for updates throughout the year on this truly unique national basketball event. This event is a personal thrill for me and I look forward to making many more exciting announcements on this web site about the Collegiate Basketball Invitational.

Also, in the coming months, you can plan to see information appear on this web site about sports education. McCarthy Sports, Inc. is in the process of creating something truly unique and designed for student-athletes.

In terms of sports consulting, we will focus primarily on research, strategic planning and marketing within a college/university setting, as well as with conference offices. In addition, we will also focus on athletic event planning, research, organization and marketing. You are welcome to share your sports event and/or consulting concepts/suggestions with McCarthy Sports, Inc. Each presentation and/or concept will be given consideration and we will consider adding additional events or projects on a case-by-case basis.

Fortunately, I’ve been able to gain a great deal of experience in a fairly short amount of time. After spending eight years as a college basketball coach, two years as an Athletic Development Director and four years as a college Athletic Director, I have gained a good amount of insight into college athletics. Fortunately, I have immersed myself into the culture of athletics, as I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree in Sports and Athletic Administration and have also served two years on the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee and also served as the Chair of three Sunshine State Conference Committees: Marketing Committee, Officials Committee and Sportsmanship Task Force.
