The
Collegiate Basketball Invitational is a major national basketball
event that will gather the finest 60 senior men's basketball players
from all of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The players will compete for three days in front of professional
basketball representatives, agents (both domestic and abroad) and
the national media. At the conclusion of this event, 20 players
will be chosen for an all star game to be aired on national
television.
The Collegiate Basketball Invitational will quickly become "the"
event for NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA players
trying to get their "shot" to make it big in professional
basketball. An invitation to participate in this prestigious event
can be very valuable to players, as this will provide an opportunity
on a truly national stage.

"I
am very excited to announce the Collegiate Basketball Invitational.
What has been an idea in my mind for quite some time is quickly
becoming a reality. We are in the early stages of the creation of a
major national basketball event.
There will come a time soon after the 2006-07 basketball season
where this dream of mine will intersect with the dreams of 60
collegiate basketball players. While my dream of the Collegiate
Basketball Invitational becomes a reality, the dreams of playing
professional basketball for these players will be fostered and
enhanced. What a thrill this has been - and will be - for me
personally and what an opportunity and experience this will be for a
selected group of young men.
Bringing the finest senior basketball players from all of the NCAA
Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA will also help to create
an opportunity for professional basketball teams, agents and the
national media to see firsthand the high level of talent at these
levels and will create a truly unique and special event.
The creation of the Collegiate Basketball Invitational is my vision.
Follow along as it becomes a reality."

"Over the years, NCAA Divisions II
and III and NAIA institutions have produced some of the top
professional basketball players. But now, through a showcase event
like the Collegiate Basketball Invitational, every year our very best
players will have a tremendous opportunity to be seen by the public,
media and professional teams."

Legendary Basketball Coach Rollie
Massimino Endorses the Collegiate
Basketball Invitational
Rollie
Massimino, who earned national fame as the Head Basketball Coach at
Villanova University while guiding the Wildcats to the 1985 National
Championship over the Patrick Ewing-led Georgetown Hoyas, has
recently endorsed the Collegiate Basketball Invitational.
“This is just simply great for the kids,” said Massimino. “Any time
you have the opportunity to get additional exposure, regardless of
the level of competition, it gives young people the ability to
fulfill their goals as a student-athlete. The Collegiate Basketball
Invitational enhances their dreams of becoming a professional
basketball player.”
The Collegiate Basketball Invitational is a national basketball
event that will gather the finest 60 senior college basketball
players in the country from all of the NCAA Division II, NCAA
Division III and the NAIA all to one site to play before
professional basketball team representatives, agents (both domestic
and abroad) and the national media. Details of the Collegiate
Basketball Invitational will be announced at a press conference to
be announced shortly.
“To have the endorsement from such a legend as Rollie Massimino
means a great deal to me,” said John McCarthy, Founder of the
Collegiate Basketball Invitational and President of McCarthy Sports,
Inc. “His words bring instant credibility.”
Massimino is currently the Director of Basketball Operations and
Head Basketball Coach at Northwood University (FL), a program which
will begin its first season of men’s basketball competition this
year (2006-07). Northwood will compete at the NAIA level and has
entered the exploratory phase to become an NCAA Division II member
school. Coach Massimino has also been the Head Basketball Coach at
the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (UNLV) and at Cleveland State.
